TD Bank email transfer woes continue

Last week, several TD Bank customers expressed frustrations in regards to the bank’s email transfer services, claiming that they were not able to deposit money that was sent to them. And, while TD Bank said days ago that the problem was fixed, some customers are still experiencing issues.

It is been 8 days since the issues have arose, and Stouffville, Ontario resident Monika Arpasi is still waiting on $3000 that was sent to her to be deposed into her account.

"I'm very frustrated," said Arpasi who runs Tiny Bubbles Childcare.

Arpasi first noticed the issues a week ago when customers sent her money electronically, and she wasn’t able to deposit it. Her husband called TD multiple times with no result. He was told that the problem would be fixed Monday, however Arpasi was still not able to deposit the money, even though the problem was supposedly fixed.

"I don't even know what to say anymore, I'm just speechless," she said. "I just had to laugh, like, come on, this is a joke now."

To make matters worse, Arpasi claims that for all the times she has attempted to contact TD, she never received an adequate explanation why the e-transfer payment problem has persisted.

"They said on Monday, on the 6th, it will be resolved, all the problems, but it's still nothing."

CBC News has reached out to TD Bank multiple times, having been told on Monday that the issue has been fixed.

"We sincerely apologize for any frustration or inconvenience this has caused for our customers," said spokesperson Meghan Thomas in an email, and told them that the issues related to the payments platform upgrade had been resolved.

However, customers have been reaching out to the bank on social media since then, and have gotten alternative responses.

Twitter user @RossDunn send a tweet to the bank Monday, reading “@TD_Canada My e-transfer is not working today. I thought it was all fixed?”

To which TD replied, "We're still working to ensure service is restored for all of our customers. Thank you for your continued patience."
